It is time to unpack the Bowers & Wilkins PX5! What is a warm welcome, in this case, is that the Bowers & Wilkins PX5 comes in a soft storage case. The pouch cannot be rolled up but can be flattened. I think the Bowers & Wilkins PX5 looks very fancy. The fabric finish on the speakers (and headband) adds an extra sense of detail.
Tried them today, and good lord, this is a completely different pair of headphones. Much more balanced, very much in line with B&W's sound signature. Bass is present, of course, but doesn't overwhelm the soundstage, unlike the previous pair. Am I crazy in thinking B&W has iterated on the PX7 line since releasing them, quietly "fixing" it?
9.0 Build Quality. The Bowers & Wilkins PX's build quality is outstanding. They feel very durable, and they're made with a good combination of high-end plastic and a sturdy aluminum alloy frame that can easily withstand a couple of accidental drops and impacts. The ear cups are dense and durable.
